Kenwood M909
電動フルオートスライドパネル MDレシーバー — The Kenwood M909 is an MD receiver built around Kenwood's electric full-auto slide panel — a motorised face that opens and closes itself, a mechanism borrowed from Kenwood's flagship 2DIN decks of the era and squeezed into this single-DIN unit. Inside, the "System E's" hybrid IC cuts distortion through a 44W×4 amplifier, backed by a twin-stabilised "System E's PRO" power supply for cleaner output under load. The display is Kenwood's "Varius Sign" FL tube — a 15×15 dot matrix running a genuinely wide range of animations and readouts, with three-step brightness adjustment to suit the cabin. MD kana titles and CD text (via changer) are both supported, there's a 12-hour clock with stopwatch, timer and alarm modes, and a gold-plated 1.5V high-voltage pre-out for driving a subwoofer with real headroom. A contoured hand-grip wired remote rounds it out — a genuinely theatrical deck for its generation.
