Kenwood RD350 + RC350

The Kenwood RX-350 is a single-DIN cassette receiver with an FM/AM tuner and control for an external CD or MD changer. Kenwood's designation on the manual cover is カセットレシーバー〈CD・MDチェンジャーコントロール〉. The manual carries publication number B64-1126-00. Mounting dimensions are 182 x 53 x 154 mm with a mass of 1.5 kg.

The unit carries no disc transport of its own. CD and MiniDisc playback come from an external changer operated over Kenwood's changer control bus, which is the role the RD-350 fills in the paired listing.

The cassette deck runs at 4.76 cm/sec with wow and flutter of 0.08 percent WRMS and a frequency response of 25 Hz -> 18 kHz within plus or minus 3.0 dB at the 70 microsecond equalisation. Stereo separation is 43 dB at 1 kHz. Dolby B noise reduction is provided, with signal-to-noise on the IHF-A network quoted at 57 dB with noise reduction off and 65 dB with Dolby B on.

Sound adjustment is a two-band tone control at 100 Hz and 10 kHz, each across plus or minus 10 dB. Output is rated at 22W x 4 into 4 ohms at 1 kHz and 1 percent THD with a maximum of 40W x 4. The pre-out delivers 1800 mV into 10 kohm with an output impedance of 600 ohm or less, matching the RX-750MD of the same generation.

Supplied parts cover the power harness, four flat screws, four truss screws and one sems bolt. No remote control is listed. As with the RX-750MD, tuner sensitivity is quoted against a 26 dB signal-to-noise reference rather than the 30 dB reference used by later Kenwood units, so the figures are not directly comparable across generations.
