JVC KW MCD 410

The JVC KW-MCD410 is a double-DIN receiver with MiniDisc and CD transports and an FM/AM tuner. External dimensions are 178 x 100 x 169 mm against a mounting depth of 150 mm, and mass is about 2.2 kg excluding accessories.

The MiniDisc section supports MDLP. Playback times from an 80 minute disc are listed as 80 minutes in standard SP mode, 160 minutes in LP2 and 320 minutes in LP4. Frequency response is 20 Hz -> 20 kHz with dynamic range of 92 dB and signal-to-noise of 93 dB.

The CD section is specified at 44.1 kHz sampling with a frequency response of 5 Hz -> 20 kHz, dynamic range of 98 dB and signal-to-noise of 102 dB. That signal-to-noise figure is 3 dB above the otherwise closely matched JVC KW-MZ610.

The amplifier is quoted per pair rather than as a single figure, at 45W plus 45W front and 45W plus 45W rear into 4 ohms at 1 kHz, with a stated usable impedance range of 4 to 8 ohms. Connections comprise a DIN jack input, an auxiliary input on a 3.5 mm stereo mini jack, and one set of RCA pre-outs at 2.0V into 1 kohm. The aerial terminal is a combined external FM/AM connector to JASO plug specification.

Supplied parts include two customisation plates for changing the fascia appearance, a hex key, a 16-pin connector lead, mounting screws and a mounting plate for Nissan vehicles. The manual lists a separate options range including the RM-RK41J remote control, a CK-25 CD cleaning kit, a CL-ML MiniDisc lens cleaner, RCA pin cords in 0.5, 1 and 2 metre lengths, a stereo mini plug lead and a KS-U57 conversion lead. The remote is an option rather than a supplied part.
