Carrozzeria (Pioneer) DEH-003

The Carrozzeria DEH-003 is a single-DIN main unit with a CD transport and an FM/AM tuner. Pioneer's description on the manual cover is CD/チューナープレーヤー. Mounting dimensions are 178 x 50 x 162 mm with a nose of 170 x 46 x 14 mm and a mass of 1.3 kg excluding the cord.
The CD section is specified with 44.1 kHz sampling and 16-bit linear quantisation, a frequency response of 5 -> 20,000 Hz within plus or minus 1 dB, signal-to-noise of 94 dB at 1 kHz on the IHF-A network and dynamic range of 92 dB. There is no MiniDisc transport and no changer control documented in this manual.
The audio section carries a three-band parametric equaliser. Each band takes a selectable centre frequency and a selectable Q factor, quoted at a 6 dB boost, with plus or minus 12 dB of adjustment. The low band covers 40, 80, 100 or 160 Hz, the middle band 200, 500 Hz, 1 kHz or 2 kHz, and the high band 3.15, 8, 10 or 12.5 kHz, each with Q factors of 0.35, 0.59, 0.95 or 1.15. This is the same equaliser structure fitted to the MEH-P515.
The loudness contour is specified at three levels, ranging from 3.5 dB at 100 Hz on the low setting to 11 dB at both 100 Hz and 10 kHz on the high setting, measured at minus 30 dB volume. Output is rated at 22W x 4 across 50 -> 15,000 Hz at 5 percent THD with a maximum of 50W x 4.
The supplied parts list covers the cord unit, mounting screws and documentation. No remote control is listed, and no pre-out level is given in the specification.
