Alpine MDA-7755JS

The Alpine MDA-7755JS is a single-DIN MiniDisc head unit with an FM/AM tuner. It carries no CD transport of its own, instead providing changer control over Alpine's Ai-NET bus. Mounting dimensions are 178 x 50 x 155 mm and mass is 1.5 kg, making it one of two single-DIN units in this archive.
The MiniDisc section is specified at 20 Hz -> 20 kHz within plus or minus 0.5 dB, a tighter tolerance than the plus or minus 1 dB quoted by the Kenwood MD units recorded here. Dynamic range and signal-to-noise are both given as 90 dB or more at 1 kHz, with wow and flutter below measurable limits. The manual does not list MDLP support.
Alpine's Digital Harmonics Enhancer, referred to throughout the manual as DHE, is fitted and is the unit's principal audio processing feature. Changer control operates over Ai-NET, which the manual documents across its options section.
Tone control is a two-band arrangement, with bass centred at 30 Hz adjustable across plus or minus 15 dB and treble at 10 kHz across plus or minus 10 dB. The bass range is the widest tone adjustment recorded in this archive. Maximum output is 44W x 4 with an output level of 500 mV into 10 kohm.
Supplied parts include a remote control with two UM-4 cells, measuring 56 x 14 x 105 mm and weighing 50 g without cells, along with two RCA pin cables, the power lead and mounting hardware. The unit is a Dolby Laboratories licensed product.
